Quick Listen
This is a small excerpt from a traditional piece for violin known as “Czardas”, recorded in 2018 in preparation for an instructors recital with the Northwest School of Music. This clip is from the most fire-y section of this piece, and it is just pure fun to play every time!
This is the opening of the third movement of Bach’s Partita No. 2., recorded in 2019. I had a lot of fun exploring the endless interpretations of this classic piece of violin repertoire.
This clip is from an improvisation session recorded in 2020, done in a classical style with some fiddle undertones. Solo improvisation is one of my favorite ways to explore the violin, it is so freeing, and I’m always surprised at which directions the violin is going to take me!

Ashokan Farewell.
The Ashokan Farewell is a beloved classic for solo violin. I recorded this in March of 2020, about a week after COVID-19 closures began. This piece is so simple, but always fills me with a warm sense of comfort, and I hope it does for you as well.

This selection was pulled from Yaquina Bay’s self-titled EP, recorded in 2018. The violinists featured include Alana Foust and Michelle Reed. This piece was composed primarily by lead singer Chris Ward, with collaboration from the whole 6-member band resulting in this final version.
