Teaching Philosophy
In lessons I prioritize helping each student develop a personal sense of musicality through exposure to a generous variety of styles and sounds. I aim to inspire dedication and meaningful practice, help students establish essential technical foundations, a well-rounded understanding of musical concepts, and a passion to reach new goals each week, month, and year!
I believe in helping each student explore the full range and power of the violin, and strive to understand each student’s individual strengths and struggles with this instrument.
Ages and Instruments
Starting Age: I teach all ages starting as young as 4.
Adult lessons: I teach adults of all ages, including adult beginners. It’s never too late to learn!
Piano and Viola: Though I primarily teach violin, I also teach beginning-intermediate viola and piano lessons, and even visual art lessons!
Methods and Styles
I teach from a classical foundation, but have experience and a passion playing and teaching many genres including, fiddle, jazz, rock, pop, Eastern European styles, etc.
Teaching a wide range of levels and styles means I pull from a variety of methods, tailored to each students level, interests, and needs.
